CAPE GIRARDEAU - Nora Gwendolyn Cain, 87, formerly of Sikeston, died April 28, 2004, in the Chateau Girardeau Skilled Care Unit in Cape Girardeau. Born Dec. 28, 1916, in Eaton, Ohio, daughter of the late Chester Benjamin and Mary Treva Sommers Wikle, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston and had also attended the First Christian Church in Matthews. A former vice president of the Cotton Boll Girl Scout Council, she had been a member of the Canalou Extension Club...

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Nora Gwendolyn Cain, 87, formerly of Sikeston, died April 28, 2004, in the Chateau Girardeau Skilled Care Unit in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 28, 1916, in Eaton, Ohio, daughter of the late Chester Benjamin and Mary Treva Sommers Wikle, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston and had also attended the First Christian Church in Matthews. A former vice president of the Cotton Boll Girl Scout Council, she had been a member of the Canalou Extension Club.

On April 27, 1946, in Wilmette, Ill., she married Henry Cain who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1985.

Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Broshot of St. James and Nancy Mitchell of Kearney, Neb.; one brother, Kenneth Wikle of Dayton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two half brothers, Robert Bowman and Richard Bowman; and one sister, Alice Hagins.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Marion Rectenwald, pastor of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Rob Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Brian Hart, Robert Smith, Jim Broshot and Benjamin Broshot.
