SIKESTON - The Sikeston High School Bulldogs flowed over a helpless Chaffee in a red and black wave, crushing them 45-0 in a game Friday at Chaffee.

CARUTHERSVILLE - The Bridge Appreciation Day was held here today after three years of planning by state and district leaders from Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky. The event found officials present from these states. It also recognized Gov. M. Dalton's 64th birthday today. Also recognized on his 103rd birthday was Sterling Price Reynolds, a long time river engineer who is known for his work with the St. Francis River Levee District.

SIKESTON - The Okeechobee District of the Southeast Missouri Boy Scout Council honored Fred French with the Silver Beaver Award during the meeting Thursday night at the First United Methodist Church. The Silver Beaver is the highest award given within the scout council and was last awarded in this district in 1981.

SIKESTON - Kenny Rogers, entertainer and benefactor for the local Cerebral Palsy Center, will return to Sikeston Wednesday to tour the recently completed 3,000 square foot expansion of the Center that bears his name. The public is invited to attend the 1 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony and hear a speech to be given by Rogers.

SIKESTON - Local members of the Missouri State Teachers Association will join teachers, students and educational organizations around the nation marking American Education Week, Nov. 14-19. The theme of this year's observance is "Building the Future: Once Student at a Time."
