A student comments

To be documented, for this paper will forever represent the will and power of the United States of America.

I agree fully with President Bush. He has been, so far and of what I know, one of the best presidents this nation will ever know. He has shown no sign of giving up or letting the enemy get away.

I feel very strongly about this. I believe that Sept. 11, 2001, will be known as another date which will "live in infamy."

In the following paragraphs, I will be stating exactly how I feel about this and why I agree with President Bush so much.

There has been a great deal of praying for our country, and through that I have seen unity and the will and power to overcome any and all obstacles that this uncivilized element has so deliberately put in our way. But we will prevail.

Americans have known surprise attacks in the past, but never have innocent citizens been attacked in such a cowardly way. We will forever remember those who died on that terrible morning of Sept. 11.

We will especially remember those firemen who went up into the building, not knowing that the building would soon fall. Those firemen were only doing their job when the towers collapsed.

We have identified our enemy and we will seek justice. America will show the world that we will not stand by while our cities and towns are being attacked. The terrorists were protected by the radical Taliban regime. The president has said that the governments that harbor these terrorists will also be considered our enemy. We have also declared war on the countries that supply these groups of radicals with their food, shelter, weapons and technology. They are just as guilty of terrorism as the groups who have carried out these acts against our country with the intent of starting a war.

The war on terrorism will not stop until we have eliminated all terrorists organizations in the world. Mr. Bush also said that, "Either you are with us or you are the terrorists," and if you are with terrorists, you will become an enemy of the American people. The hour will come when America will act and our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, mothers and fathers will make us proud. For we will prevail in this war and show the world how civilized and powerful we are. We will bring justice to those who have brought terror upon our country. This is not just America's fight. This is the fight of all who believe in justice and in peace.

The civilized world is rallying to America's side. Americans are asking, "What is expected of us?" Pull the vales of America and remember why so many people have come here, here to America, the land of freedom and prosperity. Freedom of religion, speech and of thought, and yet there are still more freedoms. Liberty is one of the most important. Also among the most important are the right to work and the fact that everyone that touches the shores of our coasts will be considered equal and have all the same opportunities to work and have a new and prosperous life in America.

I ask you to continue to support those in the rescue effort with your donations and prayers. America is successful because of free enterprise and economy. "They were our strengths before Sept. 11 and they are still our strengths today," said the President. The reason they are still our strengths today is because the American people will never be brought down, because we are a proud and willful nation.

"Our nation is thanking Congress for what they have done," and what they and the nation will soon be doing to stop this horrible act or war and to permanently rid the world of terrorism.

We will come together to strengthen America's economy and put our people back to work. When this nation gets back to work we will have shown the world that we are a powerful and determined nation. We will rebuild New York City and we will build it back better than it was before, and in accomplishing that we will also have shown our enemy that we will never be defeated and that we will always be united.

This will not be an age of terror; this will be an age of liberty here and across the world. We will always prosper over our enemies. Our enemy may have had the advantage of a surprise attack but we will have the advantage of winning the war. "Freedom and fear are at war." The American nation is at war and we will overcome this obstacle no matter how long it takes, and in the end we will have proven to be most able when it comes to defending our country and our way of life.

We will not fall, we will not fail and we will not falter. We will prevail and prosper, for we are citizens of the United States of America and we are the strongest nation and will always be. We will not lose this war nor will we ever lose a war again because we are the strongest nation in the world.

The President said, "Even grief recedes with time and grace." Remember the moment of the day when the cowardly terrorists "awakened a sleeping giant," said Yamamoto of the Japanese Navy. We will not forget the wound suffered by our country and we will not forget who inflicted the wound upon our country. We will find whoever is responsible for this and we will have justice. For we will never give up, and we will never surrender.
