Gerri Norman

ESSEX - Geraldine "Gerri" Ott Norman, 69, died Aug. 21, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Sept. 21, 1931, at Bernie, daughter of the late Clarence Franklin and Martha Pearl Kifer Ott, she was a member of New Hope (Trotter) General Baptist Church and lifelong resident of Essex.

On Oct. 28, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., she married Ladell H. Norman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Carla Norman Williamson of Gonzales, La., and Carol Norman Brown and Christy Norman Ritch of Essex; one sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Tom Merritt of Essex; one nephew, Dr. Darin Merritt of Dexter; her mother-in-law, Estella Norman of Evansville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Cara Brown Merritt and Matthew David Ritch of Essex, Bradley Williamson of Gonzales, Amanda Williamson German of Savannah, Ga., and Deidre Brown Trammell of Dexter; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Macy Williamson of Gonzales.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Eddie Dunivan and the Rev. Otis Dunn will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
