Hope Easter

CHARLESTON - Hope Easter, 76, formerly of Anniston, died Oct. 23, 2001, at her home.

Born July 12, 1925, in Camden, Tenn., daughter of the late Willie and Etleka Bomar Sterling, she lived in Charleston for the past 19 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

On Jan. 31, 1944, she married Jasper Easter who preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1996.

Survivors include: two sons, Jackie Easter of East Prairie and Bobby Easter of Morehouse; three daughters, Ruth Ann Ivie of Charleston, Becky Manker of Cairo, Ill., and Judy Hall of East Prairie; two sisters, Zetta Wilburn of Matthews and Hettie Medlin of Wakefield, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Six brothers also preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday with Gerald Collier, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
