SIKESTON - The Sikeston Sharks Swim team sent three swimmers to compete on Eastern Missouri's "Ozark" AAU Junior Olympic team.
The Ozark team of over 40 swimmers won the meet with Sikeston swimmers Mary Anne Kendig, Aidan Marshall and Jessica Pierce bringing home several medals.
Kendig (10) placed third in the 50-meter breaststroke, fifth in the 100-meter breast stroke, eighth in the 200-meter individual medley and 11th in the 200-meter freestyle. Kendig also placed first and second with teams competing in the 200-meter medley relay and 200-meter freestyle relay respectively.
Marshall (15) placed fifth in the 400-meter freestyle, sixth in the 200 meter breaststroke, ninth in the 100-meter breaststroke and 11th in the 200-meter individual medley. Marshall also placed first with teams in the 200 meter medley relay and two third place finishes with teams in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle relays.
Pierce (16) placed 11th in the 100-meter breast stroke and first with teams in the 200 meter freestyle relay, 400 meter freestyle relay and 400 meter medley relays.
The Sikeston Sharks swim team competes during the months of June and July in the Southeast Missouri Swim Conference, which operates within the Ozark AAU association.
