Glenn Patton
CHARLESTON - Glenn R. Patton, 76, died at 9:30 p.m., Aug. 22, 2004, at his residence in Charleston.
Born Oct. 7, 1928, in Yell County, Ark., to the late Burl Monroe and Minnie Vandiver Patton, he was a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in agriculture and received his master's degree in extension education from the Uiversity of Missouri-Columbia. He lived most of his life in Charelston where he served as regional director for the University of Missouri Extension Service until his retirement. A member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, he was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Epsilon Sigma Phi and AARP.
On Oct. 23, 1949, he married Pauline Sugg, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one son, Raymond Patton of Ellington; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Patton and Melinda and Roy Presson of Charleston; and two granddaughters, Amanda Presson and Catherine Presson of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Herman and Hubert Patton, and two sisters, Mae Fryar and Alene Patton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Robert E. Hearnes Jr., Ray Presson, Smith DeLine, Lytle "Pete" Bingham, Hoyt Barnes and Lanie Black.
