Glenn McElyea
SPRINGFIELD - Glenn Dale McElyea, 72, died Oct. 17, 2001, at his home.
Born Oct. 13, 1929, in Matthews, son of the late Claude Homer and Edna Reba Harden McElyea, he served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1996 from Time-Warner Cable Company in Denver, Colo.
His wife, Virginia McElyea, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Glenn D. McElyea Jr. of Tennessee; one stepdaughter, Deborah L. Bates of Colorado; two stepsons, Stephen D. Lee of Arkansas and Thomas Jack Lee of Florida; one brother, M.L. McElyea of Arkansas; two sisters, Mozella Heuring and Martha Leckie of Missouri; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted Oct. 22 at the Seminole Baptist Church gymnasium in Springfield.
Burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
Adams Funeral Home of Nixa was in charge of arrangements.
