Floyd Holt
KEVIL, Ky. - Floyd Holt, 79, died at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 30, 2001, at the Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Mo.
Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Bicknell, Ind., son of the late Albert and Nell Johnson, he had lived in Kentucky for the past 15 years, where he had been employed by the Northwestern Railroad Company until his retirement. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a 52-year member of Masonic Lodge 839 AF&AM of Berwyn, Ill., and was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church at Paducah, Ky.
On Aug. 31, 1946, he married Mary Heath who preceded him in death in February 1981.
Survivors include: one son, John Holt of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one daughter, Trina Lee Straw of Sikeston; one brother, Albert "Bob" Holt of Beach Park, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of Charleston, officiating.
Military graveside rites will be conducted at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
Pallbearers will be: Craig Straw, Floyd Sims, Gerald Copeland, Michael Borgman, Wayne Holt and Charlie Holt.
