Lessie Fountain

HOWARDVILLE - Lessie Mae Fountain, 67, died April 25, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 13, 1936, in New Madrid, daughter of the late Homer and Minnie Jean Grant Simon, she was a member of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie. She was also active in nursing home ministry and jail ministry and missionary work.

On Dec. 11, 1954, in Chicago, she married Tommie Lee Fountain who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: 11 children, Elain Miller of Chicago, Isaiah Fountain of Jonesboro, Ark., Traunza Fountain of New Madrid, Rhonda Hopkins, Tasha Evans, Phillip Fountain, Devon Michael Fountain, Gabriel Fountain, Kyra Fountain and Jytonne Fountain of Howardville and Jorel Fountain of Webbville, Ky.; and one brother, Wesley Silmon; two sisters Annie May Jackson and Minnie Lee Howard of Chicago; and 29 grandchildren.

Two sons, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie with Mike Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
