Phyllis Turner
EAST PRAIRIE - Phyllis C. Turner, 73, formerly of Charleston, died at 3:30 a.m. March 22, 2004, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born May 4, 1930, in Murphysboro, Ill., daughter of the late L.L. and Norma Lee Dickey Clough, she lived most of her life in Charleston where she was employed by the Brown Shoe Co. as a nurses aide until her retirement in 1975. She attended the First Church of God in East Prairie.
On Sept. 1, 1948, she married William E. Turner who preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2000.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bob Hanor of East Prairie and Teresa and Charlie Kuykendall of Charleston; one brother Dick Clough of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister Fleda Crosno of Benton; and two granddaughters, Michelle Kuykendall of Charleston and Laurie Hanor of East Prairie.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Rob Kespelher, pastor of the First Church of God in East Prairie, officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
