SIKESTON - Sikeston Department of Public Safety officials are seeking additional information on assaults that occurred Wednesday evening.

At 7:29 p.m., DPS officers responded to Roberta Rowe Park in reference to a large disturbance.

During the investigation there, officers heard reports of two injured girls. One who had been cut and another who had been struck with in the head with a tire tool.

Continuing their investigation at Missouri Delta Medical Center, officers found one victim with a 4-inch cut across her back and another who reported she had been struck in the head.

One 17-year old female was later arrested but her name is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.

The investigation is still continuing, according to DPS officials.
