SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Bruce and Rita Buchanan have announced the engagement of their daughter, Krystal, to Francisco Cardenas of Eagle Pass.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Sarah Buchanan of Sikeston, Mo., and the late Harold Buchanan. She expects to graduate with a bachelor's degree in health administration from Texas State University in San Marcos. Following graduation she plans to pursue a master's degree in health services research.
The prospective bridegroom earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from Southwest Texas State University. He is employed as a Spanish teacher at Hays High School in Buda.
An outside wedding is being planned for June 5 at the Aquarena Springs in San Marcos.
