Rene LaQuerre

SIKESTON - Rene LaQuerre, 73, died Aug. 23, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center.

Born Aug. 21, 1928, at Meriden, Conn., son of the late Anthony and Marcella Benoit LaQuerre, he was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Covington, Conn., and had worked at the Meriden Rolling Mill in Meriden for 40 years before retiring.

On April 28, 1951, he married Bernice Halibozek who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Thomas LaQuerre of Bristol, Conn.; two daughters, Susan D'Agostino of Gilbert, S.C. and Karen McBreairty of Thomaston, Conn.; one brother, Anthony LaQuerre of Farmington, Conn.; one special cousin, Raoul LaQuerre of Covington, Conn.; and four grandchildren, two nephews, one niece and several cousins.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating.

Burial will follow in Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Paul D'Agostino, Dug Estes, Gaylord Grindstaff, Larry Tetley, Joe Karnes and Russ Garner.
