DEXTER - Evelyn Elizabeth Triplett, 85, died Aug. 27, 2001, at her residence near Dexter.

Born Jan. 3, 1916, at Essex to the late Albert and Lois Wilson Eaton, she was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia.

On Aug. 10, 1932, at Essex, she married Cecil M. Triplett, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Melvin Triplett and Jim Triplett of Dexter; two daughters, Jo Ann Freeman of St. Louis and Janet Viau of St. Charles; one brother, Billy Gene Eaton of Blytheville, Ark.; two sisters, Ada Stacy and Virginia James of Dexter; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Eaton.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Doyle Corlew will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
