SIKESTON - Eva Carina "Nina" Johnson of Jarvso, Sweden, arrived in Sikeston Monday through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and Keith Todd Morrow departed Sunday for Sala, Sweden. Both will spend a year with host families, learning the culture of their "adopted" countries.

SIKESTON - Five returning varsity players, improved foot speed and a new attitude should boost this year's Sikeston girls tennis team into respectability, says Coach Lynne DeWitt. Jessica Felker, last year's No. 2 player, returns to challenge for the top spot on the roster, as does her sister, Jan Felker, Mary K. Levie, Jennifer C. Bledsoe and Bethany Moran. And according to DeWitt, competition between the five will not be a problem.

SIKESTON - Area farmers and Carson Chemical Company in Sikeston are doing their part to recycle plastic liquid pesticide containers. As part of a statewide program, the plastic containers are collected and granulated so they may be recycled into other products.
