Virginia Whiteside

SIKESTON - Virginia Whiteside, 81, died at 10:50 a.m. Nov. 9, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Jan. 8, 1923, in New Madrid County, daughter of the late John and Grace Cornie Couch, she retired as a self-employed beautician and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Scott City.

On Dec. 26, 1942, at Benton, she married Oren K. Whiteside who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Kay Whiteside of the home; and two brothers, Jack Couch of Pomona, Calif., and Otis Couch of Jackson, Mich.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Larry Rouse, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Scott City, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
