Shirley Messer
DEXTER - Shirley Jean Messer, 67, died Sept. 2, 2001, in Dexter.
Born Aug. 29, 1934, in Essex, daughter of the late Carl and Edith Scutter Curneal, she lived in Bloomfield most of her life before moving to Dexter a year ago. She retired from Elder Manufacturing and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Her husband, Donald Messer, preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1993.
Survivors include: one son, Rick Bostic of Bloomfield; three brothers, Delmar Curneal of Troy, Lindell Curneal of Florissant and Glenn Curneal of Chaffee; one sister, Wanda Alford of Bloomfield; and one grandson, Joseph Bostic of Dexter.
One brother, James Harold Curneal, also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dale Hendrix will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
