Ann Fowler

EAST PRAIRIE - Ann Fowler, 82, died at 6:15 a.m. Nov. 22, 2003, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born April 17, 1921, in Hackleburg, Ala., daughter of the late Richard and Mary Rayburn Yielding, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was of the Baptist belief.

Her husband, Jesse Burrell, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Bertha and Jim Gore of Matthews, Dixie and Floyd Baker of Brookport, Ill., and Joyce and Jim Henderson of East Prairie; one brother, Jack Yielding of Idaho; one sister, Olavella Yielding of Indio, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Sonny Burrell; four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Jon Archie officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
