Bethani Vandeven
CHAFFEE - Bethani Clarice Vandeven, 21, died April 20, 2002, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Blomeyer.
Born Oct. 16, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Richard and Jackie Glaus Vandeven, she graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau in 1999 and was a junior at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in pre-vet studies. She had a Regents Scholarship, was on the Dean's List, and was in the Choral Union at SEMO. She also worked in medical records at the Orthopaedic Associates in Cape Girardeau. A member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, she was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose. An active member of the church, she was an organist, song leader and a member of the church choir.
Survivors in addition to her parents include: two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard J. and Darlene Vandeven II of Chaffee and Randal J. and Brandy Vandeven of Scopus; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Vandeven of Chaffee; and three nieces, Autumn and Amber Vandeven of Chaffee and Rylie Vandeven of Scopus.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joe and Beatrice Glaus; and by her paternal grandfather, Clarence Vandeven.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee where Parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m. followed by the K.C. prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
