Martha Clymer

SCOTT CITY - Martha Valeria Clymer, 87, died at 11:20 p.m. Dec. 21, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 23, 1916, in Kelso, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Gracie Mae Garvey Newell, she was a machine operator for the Ely Walker Company in Scott City and International Shoe in St. Louis before retiring. She was a member of the Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City.

On Dec. 12, 1945, at Rector, Ark., she married Quentin Pershing Clymer who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael Clymer of McClure, Ill.; one daughter, Martha Groves of Jackson; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating.
