CHARLESTON -- The identities of the two people killed in an accident Thursday on Interstate 57, along with the 18 other passengers, have been released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Gloria Emery, 57, and Janice Franklin, 43, both of Harvey, Ill., died in the early-morning crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. The accident occurred at 5:25 a.m. three miles south of Charleston.

The driver, Latasha N. Franklin, 22, of Harvey received serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. The 17 other passengers in the Ford van, including several children, were taken to area hospitals for injuries.

The Highway Patrol said the van ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, then ran off the right side of the road and overcorrected. It ran off the left side of the road again before overturning.

Those treated for minor injuries at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston were: Tamika L. Amos, 25; Zyshonne T. Amos, 4; Diasia Henderson, 3; Dibrianna Franklin, 1; Teshon Franklin, 2; Zique Amos, 1; Tobiath T. Wilson, 9; LaKeshia L. Emery, 16; Merrill Amos, 24, Marcellas Murphy, 24; and Asia Emery, 3, all of Harvey; Cynthia Franklin, 38; Shearice S. Franklin, 21; Arianna Price, 6 months; Henry Franklin Sr., 43; Henry Franklin Jr., 17; and Ziaire Franklin, 7 months, all of Riverdale, Ill.
