Fred Brown

BERNIE - Fred R. Brown, 90, died March 1, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Aug. 26, 1911, in Dexter, son of the late Charles B. and Carrie Blankenship Brown, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie. A 50-year member of the Bernie Masonic Lodge, he was also a Shriner and member of the St. Louis Valley Scottish Rite.

On July 26, 1994, at Dexter, he married Daisy Pyle who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Jim Brown of Hallsville; two daughters, Barbara Mills of Dexter and Shirley Miller of Sikeston; and six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Brown; four brothers, Victor Brown, Arthur Brown, Earl Brown and Charley Brown; and two sisters, Margaret Davis and Marie Tillman.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. John Knapp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
