WYATT - Vera Jeff Brown, 90, died at 7:53 p.m. Feb. 28, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 3, 1911, in Tupelo, Miss., daughter of the late William and Leona Jones Houston, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church and retired from the Brown Shoe Company in 1975.

On Oct. 28, 1929, she married Wallace Brown who preceded her in death on May 10, 1991.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: five sons, Harold Brown of Wappapello, Larry Brown of Charleston, Justin Brown and Mark Brown of East Prairie and Kevin Brown of Benton; four daughters, June Leffler of Wyatt, Wanda Cogdill of East Prairie, Betty Carrington of Fredericktown and Connie Riley of Savannah, Tenn.; and 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Amos Dees, pastor of the Little Brushy Baptist Church of Wappapello, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Franklin Brown, Brantley Brown, Jeremy Brown, Jeff Cogdill, Mike Carrington and Johnny Leffler.
