Norma Bennett

DEXTER - Norma Maywah Bennett, 85, died May 22, 2002, at the Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter.

Born Oct. 16, 1916, near Bloomfield, daughter of the late Harve D. and Nellie Keating Stroup, she was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter. She was co-owner of Bennett Appliance in Dexter for 34 years and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dexter.

On June 16, 1935, at Bloomfield, she married Henry Bennett who preceded her in death on April 6, 1999.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Thomas Bennett of Bowling Green, Ohio; one brother, J.L. Stroup of Bloomfield; one sister, Miza Eisenhart of Dexter; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bob Espada of Dexter.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Nell Bennett Rehm; and one brother, Tom Stroup.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Phil Warren officiating.

Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
