Jesse Jackson
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Jesse Lee Jackson, 61, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died May 21, 2002.
Born Oct. 1, 1940, in Charleston, son of the late Warren and Locia McWright Jackson, he was a welder for the John Deere Company for more than 30 years.
In 1970, he married Elizabeth Jackson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: seven daughters, Verla Woods of Kalamazoo, Mich., Margarette Smith of Buffalo, N.Y., Vickie Pearson-Wickersham of East Moline, Trudy Jackson of Galesburg, Darlene Teague of Calumet City, Rosemary Harris of Davenport, Iowa, and Jessica Jackson-Elston of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, Marcus Jackson, David Richardson and Jordan Humphrey of Rock Island; one sister, Johnie Mae Johnson of Rock Island; and 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles McCauley; and one brother, Robert Jackson.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time at noon at the Greater Antioch Baptist Church in Rock Island.
Burial will follow in the Chippiannock Cemetery.
