Evelyn Huls
MATTHEWS - Evelyn Mae Huls, 78, died Oct. 17, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 9, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Leland Stanford and Geneva Alma Drury Stucker Sr., she was a member of Tanner Street Church of God. She was associated with Rex Lambert Fabrics in Cape Girardeau and owned and operated Evelyn's Drapes for 40 years.
On Nov. 27, 1941, in New Madrid, she married Lowell "Bud" Huls who preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1998.
Survivors include: one son, Ricky Ray Huls of Sikeston; two daughters, Beverly Kay Wright of Sikeston and Vicky Fay Bailey of Matthews; one brother, Leland Stanford Stucker Jr. of Kansas City; five sisters, Virginia Parker, Mary Imogene Mitchell, Rita Ruth Miller and Betty Jean Strickland of Sikeston and Linda Lee Fisher of St. Charles; five grandchildren, Dana Copeland of Matthews and Renae Hornback, Robbie Bailey, Paul Shelby and Austin Huls of Sikeston; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Copeland of Matthews and Ryan Wright, Hunter Joseph Bailey, Lauren Hornback and Breanna Bailey of Sikeston; and one great-great-grandchild, Blake Copeland.
She was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Anna Copeland Scott.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tanner Street Church of God with the Rev. Carl Addison, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
