Denise Scates

DEXTER - Denise Scates, 49, died May 1, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Dec. 7, 1952, at Poplar Bluff, daughter of Sindy Metcalf Cochran of Puxico and the late Frederick Lincoln Cochran, she was a floral designer, member of Puxico Ladies Auxiliary 7822 and a resident of Dexter.

On June 26, 1971, at Dudley, she married Gary Scates, who survives of the home.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by: one son, Dusty Scates of Dexter; one daughter, Angi Scates of St. Louis; one brother, Dennis Cochran of Poplar Bluff; and one sister, Debra Jones of Rossville, Ga.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Renee Cochran who died May 7, 1963.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert officiating.

Burial will follow on a later date.
