SIKESTON - The Scott-New Madrid-Mississippi Cooperative Association headquarters will be transferred this weekend from 515 Greer St. to Highway 60 East, superintendent H.M. Zaricor of the REA co-op announced. BLOOMFIELD - In spite of the vehement denials of everybody in the ASC from the executive director down to the office manager in Stoddard County, it is reported there are farmers throughout Stoddard County ready and willing to make affidavits of irregularities in the handling of cotton reapportionments, attempted intimidation of voters and other alleged illegal practices by ASC personnel during the recent pre-election campaign.. ...

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Two cheerleading squads from Kelly High School in Benton recently attended the National Cheerleading Association Cheerleading Camp at Southeast Missouri State University. Members of one of the squads included Tracy Hennemann, Kim Brewer (captain), Kim Naile, Sonya Ray, Cindy Ross and Alana Brazel. While at the camp, they received five blue ribbons, a spirit stick and an award of excellence, which was given to seven of the 60 squads at the camp.

SIKESTON - Going hand in hand to help one another is an important part of life and the recent approval of a funding increase will benefit many. The Sikeston City Council's approval of a $16,4090 funding increase will not only help the Bootheel Humane Society, but the city of Sikeston as well.
