August Blumenberg
FAIRDEALING -- August A. "Gus" Blumenberg, 73, of Fairdealing died Aug. 14, 2002, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 17, 1929, in Anniston, son of the late Louis Blumenberg and Ella Eggiman, he was a resident of Butler County for most of his life and was a member of the Oglesville General Baptist Church. He worked at General Motors in St. Louis before retiring in 1980. He worked as a real estate broker in Wright City and Warrenton after retiring. After moving to Butler County, he owned Rainbow Realty and Blumenberg Land Company.
On May 12, 1985, at Oglesville, he married Lula Mae Kirk Armour who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Charley Blumenberg of Dexter and Alvin Blumenberg of House Springs; one daughter, Sidona Reed of St. Louis; six stepchildren, Beverly Richardson of Troy, Andy Trantham of Wright City, Karen Welch of Fairdealing, Bobby Armour of Poplar Bluff, Steve Armour of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Kevin Armour of Fenton; two brothers, Roy Blumenberg of East Prairie and Wesly Blumenberg of Cape Girardeau; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Alvin Blumenberg; four brothers, Linus Blumenberg, Elmer Blumenberg, Harding Blumenberg and Clarence Blumenberg; and one sister, Anna Mary Wilcox.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Gene Riddle and the Rev. Doug Richmond will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
