CHARLESTON - Roy Lorene Fields, 92, died at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7, 2002, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born May 15, 1910, at Sulphur Creek, Tenn., daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mary Ellen Pierpoint Cherry, she was of the Baptist belief and a lifelong resident of Mississippi County.

On Dec. 28, 1927, she married Raymond Fields who preceded her in death on March 21, 1979.

Survivors include: two sons, Kenneth Fields of Piedmont and Ronnie Fields of Overland Park, Kan.; four daughters, Geraldine Welch of Charleston, Jean Clearman of Seattle, Wash., Sue Witt of Gulfport, Miss., and Sherry Wicker of Polosbo, Wash.; and 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by three sons, Glen Keith Fields, Jerry Dale Fields and Roy Verlon Fields; two daughters, Bernice Murphy and Laverne Woodfin; and one brother and four sisters.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.

Pallbearers will be: David Witt, Roger Fields, Lemond "Butch" Murphy, Ken Woodfin, Terry Welch, Dan Cole and Terry Bunting.
