ELLINGTON - Martha Elizabeth Forrest, 84, formerly of Mississippi County, died at 8 p.m. Aug. 7, 2002, at her home.

Born Nov. 18, 1917, in Charleston, daughter of the late William Douglas and Ella Gertrude Medlin Terrell, she was a seamstress for the Famous-Barr Company. She lived in Ellington since 1976 and was of the Baptist belief.

On Dec. 16, 1933, she married John D. Forrest who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1987.

Survivors include: two sons, Daniel Forrest and Johnny Forrest of Ellington; and eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Ella Jane Moore; three brothers, William Douglas Terrell and James Henry Terrell, John Bernard Terrell; and four sisters, Mary Ann Blagg, Ella Gertrude Skinner, Rebecca L. Forrest and Ruth Milam.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church of Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
