Roscoe Malone

NEW MADRID - Roscoe S. Malone, 82, died Dec. 14, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare in New Madrid.

Born Oct. 1, 1921, at Clarksdale, Miss., son of the late Ben and Josie Malone, he was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War II and member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid.

He was first married to Cora Lee Whitfield.

In 1947, he married Gracie Lee Campbell who survives of Anderson, Ind.

Other survivors include: seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Roscoe and Dorothy Malone Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, David and Gerri Malone of Atlanta, Ga., Nathaniel and Alecia Malone and Frank and Gwen Malone of New Madrid, Oscar Malone of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jerry Malone and Charles and Wendy Malone of Anderson, Ind.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Delois and Roy Beasley, Sallie Pratcher and Margaret Malone of Anderson and Deborah and Willie Robinson of West Point, Miss.; and 40 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

One son, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home. The Rev. Leotis Atkins will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
