MATTHEWS - James E. Ross, 63, died at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 17, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 19, 1940, in Dardanelle, Ark., son of the late Frank and Margaret Howard Ross, he had worked for National Lock in Sikeston for 20 years and was a member of the Matthews Church of the Nazarene.

On Oct. 20, 1961, in Canalou, he married Alice Faye Fowler who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, James F. Ross of Matthews; two daughters, Kimberly Watson of East Prairie and Mary J. Makin of Matthews; one brother, Robert Ross of Malden; six sisters, Betty Kerley of Dudley, Margaret Jenkins of Indianola, Miss., Linda McClain of Malden, Caroline Hollifield of Bell City, Ruby Taylor of Fulton and Jewel Tankersley of Campbell; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Don Heitman, pastor of Matthews Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Brewer, Eddie Kerley, Roger Miller, Danny Tankersley, Billy McGehee and Michael McClain.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Billy Watson and Gene Watson.
