Virginia Babb
CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Virginia Louise Babb, 67, formerly of Charleston, died at 12:20 p.m. June 29, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
Born Oct. 6, 1934, at Charleston, daughter of Dorothy L. Blackburn Deck of Glenn Allen and the late William Andrew Weakley, she had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she attended the General Baptist Church in Bertrand. She was employed as an LPN at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for 25 years before retiring in 2001.
On June 11, 1955, she married Edward G. Babb who preceded her in death March 11, 1985.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy Babb of Cape Girardeau and Bill Babb of Matthews; one daughter, Pam Bucher of Paducah, Ky.; two stepbrothers, Dale Deck of Glen Allen and Clifford Deck of Rolla; two stepsisters, Nedra Peters and Loma Woodfin of Glen Allen; one half sister, Andra Russell of Seiverville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Jack Hargrave, pastor of the Victory Chapel in Sikeston, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Eldon Woodfin, Dale Deck, Kevin Butler, Mike Montgomery, Bob Thomason and Sam Babb.
