Melvin Eftink
ORAN - Melvin Joseph Eftink, 59, died at 10:50 a.m. Aug. 12, 2002, at his home.
Born May 23, 1943, in Oran, son of the late Leo and Josephine Jansen Eftink, he was a machine operator for Superior Essex in Sikeston and member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Sodality in Oran.
On Sept. 3, 1965, he married Janis Lynn Sanders who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Daniel Eftink of Honolulu, Hawaii; three daughters, Teresa Black of O'Fallon, Ill., Lisa Eftink of Sullivan and Cathy Blankenship of Oran; three brothers, Larry Eftink of Oran and John Eftink and Donnie Eftink of Sikeston; five sisters, Janie Skinner and Sue Clymer of Scott City, Sherry Veal of Cape Girardeau, Judy Littleton of Texarkana, Texas, and Kim Black of Benton; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son preceded him in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Harth officiating.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
