Dorothy George

BERTRAND - Dorothy Mae George, 73, died at 4 a.m. Jan. 6, 2004, at her home.

Born May 3, 1930, in Salem, Ky., daughter of the late Charlie H. and Ocie Lee Guess Heaton, she lived in Cahokia, Ill., for several years before returning to Bertrand in 1985. She attended the Cornerstone Church in Bertrand.

On Dec. 21, 1946, she married William Russell George who survives of the home.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, William Heaton, Owen Heaton, Vernon Heaton, Johnny Heaton and Allan Heaton; and three sisters, Lucille Robey, Mary Prince and Mattie Simpson.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until service time at 11 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Her nephew, Buddy Heaton, associate pastor of the Ark of Hope Church in Dexter, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
