J.C. Fussell
EAST PRAIRIE - J.C. Fussell, 82, died at 9:50 p.m. May 23, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 4, 1919, in Mississippi County, son of the late James C. and Ollie Fussell, he was employed by Amex in East St. Louis, Ill., for 48 years and retired as a mechanic in 1984. He attended the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
On Feb. 13, 1940, he married Janet Presson Fussell who preceded him in death on July 27, 1990.
On Feb. 10, 2001, he married Edna P. Eaves Crook Fussell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, C.W. "Butch" Fussell of Caseyville, Ill. and Marvin Fussell of Battondoia, Iowa; one daughter, Joice Schmits of Columbia, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Christa Fussell, Samantha Fussell, Cleta Fussell and Eric Fussell of Caseyville and Marcia Fussell and Janoca Fussell of Battondoia.
Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Services were conducted Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Smith and the Rev. J. Sarrells, officiating.
Burial followed in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers were: Dennis Chance, Donald Bryars, Wesley Selman, Frank Eaves, Larry Duke and Ted Bennett.
