"Granny" Latham
SIKESTON - Pearl "Granny" Latham, 92, died at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 21, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 22, 1911, in Blodgett, daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Harris Welch, she was a member of the Illinois Avenue Baptist Church in Sikeston and worked as a cleaning lady for businesses in Sikeston.
On Feb. 17, 1931, in Morehouse, she married Marvin Latham who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1980.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lois Ross of Sikeston and June Brown of Catron; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brown of Sikeston and the Rev. Larry Rouse of Scott City officiating.
Burial followed in the Essex Cemetery at Essex.
Pallbearers were: Robert Brown, Bud Ross, Rodney Comstock, Mike Johnson, Gary Richardson and David Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were: Adam Kimball, Joey Richardson, Gerry Richardson and James Brown.
