Henry Cox

DEXTER - Henry Cox, 86, died March 30, 2004, at Cypress Point Healthcare.

Born Dec. 3, 1917, in Puxico, son of the late Jessie Harrison and Berdie Edmonson Cox, he was a retired farmer and member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

On Dec. 24, 1936, at Fisk, he married Velma Ellen Deardorff who preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1986.

He and Bernience Rogers were married May 6, 1988, at Essex and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Gordon H. Cox of Collierville, Tenn., and Rodger H. Cox of Bloomfield; one daughter, Sharon Sue Thompson of Puxico; one brother, Paul B. Cox of Dexter; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One brother, Avery H. Cox, also preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Frank Bain will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Harper Cemetery at Aid.
