James Jones

NEW MADRID - James Jones, 79, died May 28, 2002, at the Beverly Health Care Center in New Madrid.

Born Feb. 26, 1923, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Dock Jones and Mattie Greer.

On Aug. 25, 1986, he married Lovie Lee Jones who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Fred Ivory Jones of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Maudie Taylor of Lilbourn; one stepdaughter, Odester Langden of Detroit, Mich.; and one stepdaughter-in-law, Louise Jones of Parma.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, James Brown.

Services were conducted Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Catron.

Burial followed in the Simmons Burial Park at Catron.

Ponder Funeral Home of Lilbourn was in charge of arrangements.
