Ruie Calhoun

SCOTT CITY - Ruie Elizabeth Calhoun, 71, formerly of East Prairie, died at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 31, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Bon Nov. 10, 1932, in Johnsonville, Tenn., daughter of the late William Henry and Mamie Corbitt Ledbetter, she lived in Scott City for the past eight years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Marston.

In January 1960, she married Raymond Lee Calhoun who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2003.

Survivors include: five sons and four daughters-in-law, Steve and Julie Craddock and Donnie Metheny of Jackson, William and Rein Nowling of Portland, Ore., Raymond W. and Teresa Calhoun of Banning, Calif., and Jimmy Ray and Phyllis Calhoun of Scott City; four brothers, William H. Ledbetter of Cahokia, Ill., Henry J. Ledbetter of Ocala, Fla., and Glen Ledbetter and Edgar Ledbetter of East Prairie; two sisters, Mary Ada Prigen of Decatur, Ala., and Alice Mae Ledbetter of Pensacola, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Metheny and James Calhoun; and one brother.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
