Suspect sought for robbery at Casey's

SIKESTON -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery Thursday night.

According to Sikeston Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden, DPS officers responded to an armed robbery at Casey's General Store at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The clerks at the store told officers a black male, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches to 5-foot, 9-inches, about 140-155 pounds wearing a dark colored trench coat and ski mask entered the store carrying a handgun. The suspect assaulted one of the clerks by striking her in the face with a fist and demanded the store's cash from the other.

After getting the money he left running west from the store. The exact amount of cash is not determined at this time. A clerk was treated for minor injuries from the assault.
