CAIRO, Ill. - Henry W. Johnson, 72, died May 10, 2004, at his home.

Born Nov. 16, 1931, in Wyatt, Mo., son of the late Redmond and Mary Cobb Johnson, he was of the Baptist belief. He had been employed by the Swift Company, Burkhart Manufacturing and Alexander County before retiring.

His wife, Mary Jones, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: six daughters and four sons-in-law, Shirley and Robert Kent, Sharon Johnson and Thelma Johnson of Carbondale, Jeanette and Jerry Springer of Kankakee, Marlene and Howard Johnson of Future City and Ladonna and Donald Johnson of Cairo; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney and Melissa Johnson of Carbondale, Cletus and Genice Johnson of Hodges Park and Cornelius Johnson of Cairo; one brother, Fred Johnson Sr. of Cairo; one sister, Luella Barber of Cairo; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at the Shiloh Full Gospel Church in Future City with Fred Johnson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Spencer Heights Memorial Park in Mounds.

Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
