SIKESTON -- Elmer E. Lee, 87, died at 3:55 a.m. July 20, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Feb. 6, 1915, at Kewanee, son of the late Ernest and Ella Boyette Lee, he had worked for Cotton Oil Mill for 16 years before serving as a custodian for the Diagnostic Regional Center for 12 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the North Acres General Baptist Church. On Nov. 20, 1937, at New Madrid, he married Lena I. Beaman who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Caroyln Lee of Sikeston; two sisters, Mary Brown and Maxine Hicks of Sikeston; and five grandchildren: Michael W. Lee of St. Charles, Kristi Wheetley, Andrew Eason, Laurie Brashears and Angela Stark, all of Sikeston; and nine great-grandchildren, whom he adored.

One son, James Leroy Lee; one daughter, Linda Gail Lee; one brother; and six sisters preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Steve Tippen, pastor of the North Acres General Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Lee, Tim Wheetley, Andrew Eason, Chad Stark, Randy Stark, Larry Truelove and Mike Hicks.
