Dirk Adams
HELENA, Mont. - Dirk Wellington Adams, 30, died July 2, 2002, of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Born Sept. 24, 1971, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Peggy Hammond Adams of Phoenix, Ariz., and Blakney Adams of Seattle, Wash., he attended New Madrid (Mo.) Elementary School and graduated in 1989 from Cahokia (Ill.) High School. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard for seven years and owned and operated a long-haul trucking company.
On May 13, 2000, in Helena, he married Kathryn Colleen "KayCee" Spinler who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: one daughter, Jessica Wellington Adams of the home; his stepmother, Karen Adams Walker of Stevensville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sabrina Adams and Mark Newman of Sikeston, Mo., Christina and Scott Leete of Hamilton and Amanda Stacey of Missoula; two brothers, Scott Adams of Stevensville and Blake and June Adams of Barnhill, Ill.; and his paternal grandmother, Martha Adams of Golconda, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Blakney Adams.
A memorial services was conducted July 8 at the Hagler-Anderson Chapel in Helena with the Rev. James A. Connor, officiating.
Military graveside rites were conducted at the Montana Veterans Cemetery in Fort Harrison.
