Elizabeth Strong

PORTAGEVILLE - Elizabeth Strong, 76, died Nov. 20, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 6, 1928, in Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lucille Jackson Davis.

On July 6, 1944, in Osceola, Ark., she married Roscoe Strong who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1989.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Roscoe Strong Jr.; one daughter, Mary Sue Strong; and three brothers, Calvin Wilson, Arthur Wilson and Daniel Wilson.

Survivors include: four sons, Willie G. Strong and James Allen Strong of Hannibal, Jerry Lee Strong of Oklahoma and Robert Lee Strong of Springfield, Ill.; five daughters, Gertrude Burrage and Brenda Faye Strong of New Madrid, Lovie Lee Holmes and Rose Marie McGill of Portageville and Darlene Strong of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Charlie Wilson of Chicago; two sisters, Lula Frazier of Arizona and Irene Simmons of Lilbourn; and 21 grandchildren.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at 11 a.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home. The Rev. Earnest Winters will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Lily of the Valley Cemetery at Point Pleasant.
