Ada Cotner
DEXTER - Ada P. Cotner, 89, died Feb. 9, 2002, at the Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Ala.
Born Jan. 17, 1913, in Dexter, daughter of the late Ambrose L. and Alullian Hull Pruitt, she was an obstetrics nurse at the Poe Clinic before retiring and member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Sept. 4, 1946, in Dexter, she married Harold Rudolph "Pete" Cotner who preceded her in death on April 29, 1977.
Survivors include: one son, William L. Cotner of Owens Cross Roads, Ala.; one stepson, Donald Cotner of St. Louis; two brothers, Dale Pruitt of Edinburgh, Texas, and Delmer Pruitt of Poplar Bluff; and two sisters, Ellen Blansett of McAllen, Texas, and Susie Griffin of Memphis, Tenn.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, Lewis Pruitt; and three sisters, Sylvia Oldham, Dolly Salsman and Ollie Lee.
Graveside services were conducted Monday at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with the Rev. Clifford Wray officiating.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
