SIKESTON -- Hemba Young will be guest of honor on his 92nd birthday Sunday. Family and friends are invited to attend a drop-in celebration from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Clinton Building, 501 Campanella St. in Sikeston.

Lowell Hemba Young was born May 16, 1912, in Petal, Miss. After he and Wilma Brusilla Smith were married Nov. 13, 1942, they moved to Sikeston where she taught home economics and he became a windshield farmer/manager. Their son, John Young, of Jonesboro, Ark., was born Oct. 31, 1945.

Although he was raised in the Methodist faith, Young became a Presbyterian when he married. He is a member of Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church. From 1979-81, he served as one of the first joint moderators of the synod of the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Presbyterian Church.

The party will hosted by Young's son and his wife, Diane. The family requests that gifts be omitted.
