Bill Ross
SIKESTON - Vester "Bill" Ross, 63, died Nov. 22, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Jan. 4, 1940, in Caraway, Ark., son of the late Silvia and Marie Mitts Ross, he attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He worked for Johnson House Movers for 12 years and was a truck driver for Batesville Truck Lines before illness forced his retirement.
On May 1, 1959, he married Patricia L. Kimber who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Billy Eugene Ross of Holland, Mich.; three daughters, Patricia LuAnn Elrod and Margaret Moore of Sikeston and Terri Lynne Hackney of Fort Worth, Texas; six sisters, Liz Abernathy of Freidheim, Patsy Pickett, Faye Sandusky and Marilyn Brewer of Jackson, Debra Hoskins of Benton and Sandra Freeman of Nokomis, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Hope Ross Gribble on Oct. 14, 2003.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jerry Adams, pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
